Not a stupid question at all! With previous developer beta -> public build transitions, I found that if you download the GM and then remove the beta profile, you are not prompted for another update since the GM build is the same build as what is being released today.

So, I'm on beta 8. If I delete the beta profile, I'll be able to update to todays update, right?

Yes, you’ll install the lastest OS, but you have to go into your beta account and leave the program.
