Here's What Apple Vision Pro's Huge Box Looks Like

I collect Apple Boxes and have about 25 years worth. This won't fit on the shelf I use. They're all HOmePod height and only my PowerMac and iMac boxes sit out in the garage. The AVP box won't fit on my big shelf of boxes so I'm not sure where I'm going to put it. Maybe I need a new shelf?

Is the article saying that each individual box is hand packed by an employee?

Oh wow, first gen iMac G5. The one computer (ever?) Apple actually designed to be user serviceable. Those were the times!

I imagine the large box holds a very large foam dampening interior to protect the Glass from shattering through the many abuses shipping impose on on-loading/off-loading cargo.

Here I was thinking... I could just hop on a flight from London to New York, and the Greyhound to Delaware, and back. Just hand luggage. If I did that, I'm not sure who Mother Earth would be more angry with. Me, or Apple for the Semi they ship each AVP in.

It looks like Apple really doesn't want the Vision Pro to leave the US borders. If the box is really so huge, then it will be very difficult for unofficial resellers to carry several of these pieces at a time and not arouse suspicion.

I do not want to bash the Vision Pro, it may be an awesome product. But the contents of the box just does not scream Apple "it just works": Solo Knit Band, a Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal cushions, a cover, an external battery pack, a USB-C charging cable, a power adapter, a polishing cloth, and the Vision Pro headset itself. Plus you may need Zeiss lenses.
Compare that to an iPod plus headphones, an iMac all-in-on computer, an iPad tablet, or an iPhone that you used with only your finger (a *key* feature when it came out).

Those who do that will price the shipping cost into the item price. Many of us sold dozens of PS5s which had similarly sized boxes but were much heavier. This will be nothing out of the ordinary.

How much did you declare for customs — was it for the actual amount, or did you ship it at a reduced estimated value?

Does anyone know the measurements of the Vision Pro box? The box is big and thick and I wasn't expecting that.

Really? That reads like you are looking for any reason to bash the headset.

Did the iPod ”just work” without its power brick, cable, a computer with music files, or the internet in the case of streaming on the Touch? Does the iMac “just work” without the mouse, keyboard, power adapter and power cord?
