You clearly are NOT reading. I said the GSMA sets the standard for RCS. You told me it’s incorrect and rambled about the DOJ (that has zero to do with RCS). After I showed you evidence that you’re wrong, you now start talking about the universal profile. The universal profile doesn’t set anything. The universal profile is the technical standard set by the GSMA.You clearly don't understand what Universal Profile is. Universal Profile sets the requirements in each version of RCS. RCS is up to 3.1, and message edits, direct replies, and deletion were all REQUIRED for the client to implement in order to be in line with the standard protocol as of UP 2.7. The language in the GSMA documentation states that the client, for instance, SHALL, allow a user to edit a text for a period of 15 minutes. SHALL means the client has to implement this feature. SHALL means it is a required feature to meet that version of UP.
As far as what else is in the universal profile that is set by the GSMA, I have no idea if there’s more. I thought it’s just encryption. So if it’s more than that, then I stand corrected.
Universal Profile
The GSMA’s Universal Profile is a single, industry-agreed set of features and technical enablers developed to simplify product development and deployment.
