Set up my HomePod today and impressed with the sound but Siri is a hot mess. I can’t create a new playlist by request so I created a playlist called “heard on homepod” yet Siri can’t understand a simple command and won’t add songs on random to any playlist I ask. I have a playlist called “my playlist” and “pop playlist” if I ask to add to my playlist Siri defaults to pop playlist no matter how I ask. This is infuriating.

I’ve created new playlists and Siri is like “hmm, I can’t find that playlist” or she adds to some random playlist.

Not impressed with the “machine”

I had a similar problem last night. I was playing a song from Apple Music and wanted to add it to a playlist. I said to Siri, “Add this song to my Favorites playlist”. She could not find that playlist. Had to go back and add it manually. Frustrating.

I’ve decided Siri likes adding to my custom playlist “pop playlist” so I’ve repurposed that set to be songs I like during random play (the songs played when you say: “Siri, play some music” that is based on your tastes).

So my simple suggestion is find a playlist Siri on HomePod can understand and go with that for now. I also found if you create a new playlist be patient and allow the cloud to recognize it before trying to add songs to it on HomePod. Give it a few hours at least.
