Anybody else have this problem or know a way to fix it?

I say, “Hey Siri send a message to Jim”
Siri replies, “What do you want to say?” but then it doesn’t activate the microphone, making a reply impossible. Sometimes it will activate the microphone for a half second, then the watch taps me and just sits there. No Bluetooth devices are being used, this is just me talking to my watch. Now I need to hold the crown to start it listening which is hard if you don’t have a hand free.

I know I could tell Siri to send a message with the contents of it, but I never seem to think that way.

Have you tried using Hey Siri again to wake and add the content? Hmm, just tried it here... it works to wake up the mic, and then puts the content in to the message body... including the "Hey Siri"

I always say something like "Hey siri tell my wife I'm headed Home". It composes the message and sends it. No need for a two step process.
