In my quest to find the perfect earbuds for me to run with I decided to try the Bose Sport Open earbuds. They are my favorite so far but unfortunately I can't get them to recognize me saying "hey Siri" to issue commands.

The first earbuds I tried are the Airpods, Airpods Pro, and Powerbeats Pro. Spending time with those got me used to just saying "hey Siri" while running without having to raise my wrist or press a button. Has anyone got it to work with any of the Bose earbuds line with their Apple Watch?

The hands-free "Hey Siri" functionality you're describing is specific to certain Apple Airpod / Beats products (the first-gen Airpods did not have it, for instance).

That functionality is not available on third-party products, as it requires specific hardware in the headphones / earbuds that Apple doesn't (to my knowledge) license to anyone else.

Ah thanks, for some reason I thought it worked on my 1st gen AirPods but after trying it again it didn’t. I guess I’ll have to live with raising my wrist with the Bose as the comfort and open feeling of them outweigh anything else while running.
