iPhone Hey siri not working on iphone or airpods pro

so my hey siri voice command isnt working on my phone or airpods pro, works fine on my watch. i tried to turn off the setting and re set up and have tried to repair the airpods nothing works, ive tried everything from restoring iphone backup at this point which i wont do lol

ok come to find out hey siri will not work as long as my airpod pros are turned on, works fine without them on or with my powerbeats pro

I’ve been able to get hey Siri to start listening by pressing the button on the headset and playing something. I then say “hey Siri” over the music and it works.

that doesnt work for me at all, it sometimes works but often does not and when it doesnt nothing gets it to work at all. hey siri works fine when my airpod pros arent connected or with my powerbeats pro

Out of curiosity, do you have “Type to Siri” turned on? I had an issue with replying to messages that came in through “Announce With Siri” and toggling off “Type to Siri” fixed it.

its off, and its not my announce message thats bugged its the hey siri command that is broken when my airpod pros are connected, the command works fine with my powerbeats pro and when my airpods arent connected. worked fine with my old airpds gen 2 when i had them to. starting to wonder if i got a bad pair of airpods

Gotchya. Was just curious if there may be some correlation.
Take it to Apple. I’ve had to replace two pairs of AirPod 2’s and one charging case in under a year. Frustrating!

Yeah, that happens unfortunately. The wireless charging case on my AirPod Gen 2’s just stopped working one day, out of nowhere. How is the microphone with phone calls? Interesting issue since AirPods themselves don’t process “Hey Siri.” It goes through the phone and you’re saying it works fine with your phone and the PowerBeats.

everything is good except that one issue, so not sure if its worth going to apple for it or not i only use the command while driving otherwise i use my watch

well after some testing i found that hey siri will not work with my right airpod and if i have it set to left only it works everytime

Might be an issue with that right pod. In the settings, do you have the mic set to use the left airpod only? You can set it to automatic...

yeah will only work when that is set to left airpod, voice memos doesnt even pick anything up with my right airpod but funny enough discord works with it

I would take it back for a new pair. Might be hardware related.
