I have the Listen for enabled but it does not turn on is this normal?

On the latest Mojave Beta

It appears that I have been experiencing the same issue, Siri will not initialize when using either the Menu or Task Bar icons and has not responded to Hey Siri since the second Beta of Mojave. Everything seems near perfect upon installing the new Mojave (developer releases), although on day three or four everything started to go downhill with errors and things “not working right”.

It started with issues focused around Siri, then problems with Indexing, several other issues here & there and today Siri "does not know who I am”. That is a new one…

"hey Siri" has never worked on a MBP by default. You have to google the steps to make her always listen for your "hey" command.

I've encountered VPNs are messing with her connection and after removing it she's worked just like normal.

From what I've read, the new 2018 models with the T2 chip do always listen for it, a la iPhone/iPad! :)

Parallels 14 beta. I configured it to not use the Mic but still does not wake. I can invoke with button
