Hi, first post Audio/Imovie question

Hi, good to be here. Been lurking for a while!

My question is this-

I have a Sony HD camcorder with USB2..
I make videos of myself playing keyboards and i want to capture video from the camcorder and audio from the keyboards preferably at the same time..

Is there any way to do this?

You could use the audio input of your camera to record the sound of the keyboard.

Thanks. Could you explain how to do that? Surely that would merge the audio and video into one? Ideally i need seperate control over the audio track then could sync up later..Can i do this in imovie? Doesnt seem there is any timecode in there..

I was kinda hoping there is a way to record the audio direct from the keyboard live as im demoing into logic9 as the video is being filmed with the sony camcorder, edit the audio in logic then match it up with the video footage
