hi Im used to the keyboard being almost silent; theyve made sure of that a long time ago when they planned it . Now I wonder if the trackpad is the same . Its honestly rather loud . Its not a sound that can be below what 40 decibels of sound? Very loud . So I do wonder if Apple is in the process of adjusting that . "Can only do so much"

You can enable "Silent Clicking" in System Preferences / Trackpad / Point & Click if you have a Force Touch capable trackpad.

In yet another recent Apple UI "victory", "silent clicking" is just quieter slightly, not silent. If you want it to be silent you also need to tick "tap to click" in that menu.
