Although the 1680x1050 resolution in the MBP was officially extinct when the 15" unibody was introduced, now that the 17" unibody is here in only 1920x1200 resolution, do you think Apple has finally made way for its introduction into the 15" MBP? 1440x900 to 1920x1200 is a huge gap for 2" of screen. A 15" MBP with a 1680x1050 anti-glare screen sounds like a dream machine.

Imminent? No. Next time they revise (in probably six months), maybe but I'd bet against it. The 15" is really the "mainstream" MBP, and even a 1680x1050 display would have tiny fonts for some people. It would have to be an option rather than standard.

Imminent was not the right word to use. Next time they revise was what I was intending to say. I also agree it will be an option, just like the the 1920x1200 resolution was an option on the 17 MBP for quite some time.
