I've got a question regarding the hidden .mp4 files created by OSX. What exactly are these hidden files?
They are named ._<movie name>.mp4 and I find them in all the folders where I have a an mp4 movie located on my NAS device.
The reason I have noticed this is that when I connected from my Windows 7 machine to the folder, I have show hidden files and there are thousands of these files. They are now causing problems with an application I use to automatically populate my Windows iTunes library called iTunes Folder Watch.
I want to update the developer of the application as to these hidden files so that he can ignore them when processing a folder, but would first want some more information as to what they are/do.
