Placing the files in the root directory works allot better problem is my files are not organized.

you could rename the files. ie, highlight all the files in a folder (am assuming that means an album, or a playlist), and right-click, go to rename, and sort them numerically, in the order you want.

or something like that

Yes but I have sermons and music. I do not wish to mix the sermons/teaching series up because they are on totally different topics. I have the Last Days According to Jesus teaching series of 12 lessons, Chosen by God of 6 lessons, + some podcast sermons, and music.

you don't have to rename the files that you have in your system
only the files that you put in the pen drive
that way you can keep everything organized in your system and also in the pen drive

I only rename what I'm going to put in the usb drives
and leave the main original files untouched

that way you will have everything organized in both, your system and the pen drive
sorry if I wrote the same thing twice, I was simply trying to explain a bit better

having 2 or 3 pen drives is better than having 20 or 30 cd's
I rather have 2 or 3 pen drives
even if you burn the music to cd's you still have to change the disc at some point

either that or upgrade your system with a player that can read folders

I think the extra usb drive is a cheaper alternative

I have 4 pen drives in my explorer
not that I can put everything on a single pen drive
but some times I want to add new music
so I take one of the pen drives and put the new music there

I decided to do this when some times I took out my pen drive and left it at home
by mistake and I was forced to listen to the radio

in my country they talk more than they play music
and I don't like listen to politics, news or commercials

so if I forget to take the pen drive with the new music , I still have all the other pen drives in my explorer, just in case

my kenwood can also play video files from the usb drive
much better than burning dvd's, I only burn a dvd when there is no other choice or I really want to watch that dvd movie

but now days dvds are technically obsolete and blurays look much better

you have to be selective with the files
you don't have to put everything on the pen drive
just put what you are going to listen to

what I do is I take the best song from each album and put them on the pen drive
that way you don't have to spend a lot of time renaming files

just do what is necessary and avoid everything else that is unnecessary

once you learn all the tricks it will be very easy

regards

Inserted my flash drive into my blue ray player and there are defiantly hidden files in the folders and why the car CD player has issues. It does not like hidden files.

To piggyback on this thread, is there any way to batch change the attributes of hidden files to un-hidden/regular files? I have some 500+ files that are hidden, I want to unhide them, is there any way?

TIA

it is permanent if you don't toggle it back with the same command

That said - many of the "hidden fies are system files and can cause major problems if you are not careful about what files you change

I find it useful to toggle it off when not needed and it is less confusing - I don't think there is a way to affect an individual file unless you remove the dot in front of the file name
