So I have been searching google like crazy. I know when I had Windows I could hide certain files that I didn't want anyone to find if my computer was taken unless they knew which folder I had it in and how to reveal it and the password to unlock it to view it. I can't seem to find a way to do this with my Mac outside of having to download a free app or buy one to pw protect it. Does anyone know a way to hide / pw protect a file?

ah thank you i'll watch it tonight when I get home, this computer doesn't allow youtube gotta love work pc's.

Security through obscurity. Hopes you're not protecting anything meaningful because unless you're password protecting, it isn't secure in the least. Encrypted DMG and TrueCrypt are my choices for file/folder protection.
