Jolly Jimmy macrumors 65816 Oct 19, 2011 #3 Not sure how simple this is compared to Windows having not touched a Windows machine in years, but it's quick and easy. Open Terminal.app and enter Code: chflags hidden followed by a space. Then drag the file/folder you want to hide to the terminal window and hit enter.
