Hello,

I have added and verified a Gmail email under "Apple ID/Reachable at:" but when I tried using Hide My Email, there was no option to select that newly added email address. Is the email tied to my Appple ID the only option that can be used as a forward address?

Don't know if you looked there already?

Under Settings-Applied-iCloud-hidemymail you see your configured emails that will be forwarded. Below all these is a point of settings called "forward to". There I can choose between those emails I have configured with the stock email program and the iCloud mail address.

So it seems you have to choose one of these and all forwarded mails go there. I could not set more than one. So as long as your newly created gmail address is configured for the email Programm or other Apple services it should appear there.

The second email that I added doesn't appear as an option to use as a forwarding email destination. In other words, two email options don't appear so that I can choose the one I want, only one email appears.
 
Don't know how to help then. Maybe it takes some time to appear there. I have a gmail address amongst others and I could choose it there.
 
I’m dodging this service from now on.

I registered a third-party App a while ago using the ‘Sign in with Apple’ and it used a “privaterelay.appleid.com” email address. Fast forward two months and I need to log into the App/Website again but have no actual password (due to it being linked to my Apple/iCloud). Attempting to reset via the third-party service requires access to a verification email but the “Hide my email” address used has just vanished from my iCloud and so I have no way to obtain the verification email.

I am now completely locked out of the third-party service and have lost all my data. It has been escalated at Apple but they tell me there’s nothing they can do.

Might have been a one-off but I’ll be avoiding this service for any third-party Apps.

When you go to Apple ID/Name, Phone, Email - how many email addresses do you have under "Reachable at:?"
