Hide or show Leopards new dock?

Back on topic: I usually like keeping my dock visible. The only question I have about it is will the new dock look crappy on the side of the screen? I think it would look a bit awkward with the 3D icons.. any input?

Ive always had my dock hidden, but it seems with Leopard many pics have it shown. So i'm kinda in between on how to use my dock now, maybe there will be more cool effects for it now?

They only show it because its good advertisement for the new dock (or for the dock in general)

I have a 12" screen and since screen real-estate is precious the dock gets hidden. On my father's 24" iMac he'll probably leave it up.

Ugh, it looks horrible on the side. I keep mine visible on the left and use Cleardock... I hope it works on Leopard.

I show mine on the bottom. I've tried hidden before but I've become use to seeing the dock. I will only hide the dock if an application tends to go to the bottom. [Namely Office 2004 apps ]

I hide the dock. It's like throwing out desktop space if you don't. Plus I find it gets in the way.

One thing that might changed my mind about hiding my dock now is the fact that windows can sit behind it, so you dont have a stupid gap at the bottom.

Ditto. A part of me still wishes I can drop down the Apple icon in the upper left and have that replace the dock like the old days. But I'm sure the dock is still the better option.

Why not use your dock like this?
