Hiding desktop icon

Hey all,

I'm wondering if there is any way I can hide the "Mac OS X" icon on my desktop and only that icon. Thanks!

I assume you mean the HD icon. If that is the case, simple hit command (apple)-J while on the desktop and there will be a check box to show the drives of not.

for clarification, I think Vader meant command-comma? (finder prefs, allows visible icon options)

Ah, sorry, was command J in Tiger, just looked and found it isn't in the view options for the desktop anymore.
