Hiding files?

    I tried hiding a file by adding a "." to the beginning of the file's name, but it says that files beginning with "." are reserved for the system.
    Does anybody know if it can be done?

    You'll need to do it from terminal with superuser privileges (use sudo).

    Thank you, tersono. It worked perfectly. I wish there were an easier way though.
