Hiding iChat on bootup

Is there a way to prevent the iChat buddies list to appear when I boot up? I just want the little icon up top. I don't need the buddy list to pop up everytime I restart.

try System Preferences -> Accounts -> Login Items -> Use The Hide checkbox infront of iChat.

It was already checked. I'm not sure what that box is supposed to do because it's not hiding the app.

For some reason iChat and Mail won't hide when you login even if you check the box in System Preferences - very annoying
