Hi,

I have also posted this bug in the ventura forum with no success so I am trying here.

I have realised that if I enter into online accounts >>icloud the cpu usage goes to the roof.

I went into system monitor and the process accountsd takes lots of CPU usage up to 90%.

Oddly this only happens when I am on internet accounts>>>icloud account but it doesn't happen when I open icloud settings from my user ID at the top of the settings app.

Things I have tried:

- Reboot
- Reboot in safe mode
- Reinstall ventura
- Sign out and sign in from icloud
- Disable wifi

Problem only occurs when I have signed in icloud and have internet connection. If I sign out there is no problem so clearly there is something going on with icloud.

As a note I have not noticed this problem in previous mac OS releases.

Has anyone noticed this error too? latest ventura 13.4 (a) on MBP pro 14 M1

Any idea?

Yes, I have exactly the same problem. No idea how to solve. Had spent hours with Mac support on resolving it weeks ago, and they thought it was a corrupt file, and recommended I wipe and reload. Did that and still have problem. good to know it's Ventura and not my hardware.

Corrupt file? where? you mean corrupt file in you icloud drive?
I think it is ventura as you said, I cannot recall having this issue in monterey

I also figured that it was an OS issue, but seems like only a small percentage of users have this issue and not others. As well, I know at least one person on Sonoma where the issue persists.

It seems more like an issue specific to certain iCloud accounts. Have any of you guys tried logging into a different iCloud account on the same machine and testing if the issue is still there?

Problem only occurs when...
I'm going to suggest it's not a problem. Mine does the same thing. It goes to about 50% CPU when I open Internet Accounts > iCloud. But the machine is still running normally and I wouldn't even know unless I went looking for it.

Mine goes to 150%-200%, gets pretty hot, and the menu lags a ton. I also sometimes get the ExtensionKit error 15 when I click back from the menu
