Tried messing around with some lower resolutions bumfluff to see which if any look reasonable in the event a game either doesn't support or is too slow with the full 5K resolution?

he said in the other thread that he got 26-29 fps in 3v3, so i guess in 1v1 you get 35 fps..or so...
So i changed my mind. in 2 years we will game at native resolution all the games except those very demanding like crysis/farcry etc
But light games like starcraft/wow/lol/diablo i think with the 3rd generation 5k imac we will get some 60 fps

In the beginning i thought in 10 years we will can play any game at 60fps at 2880p

yeah i just read that...i guess the next question is what are the max settings that 60+fps is achievable? 1440p and ultra everything? Sounds like a dream for this rmbp owner

With 780m you have 60 fps at 1440p max

What i want to know (mine arrives monday) is the performance of games in 1440p at MAX. Most likely thats the resolution that most people will be playing - i.e i don't play at hiDPI on my rMBP, i play in standard res - i don't see any real performance drop (as its equal pixel duplication).

Might be worth , if you guys have the time, to post the FPS at 1440p also.

will do

fyi all of these are/will be in 3v3

I'd like to see how the screen looks at a lower resolution (non HiDPI 1440p). Does it look particularly blurry or fuzzy? How does it compare to the non-Retina 27" native 1440p?

theoretically it should not have the blur associated with older, larger pixel LCD screens. the high PPI should make 1440p look very good... close to native I'd hope/think.
