My MacBookPro is usually very quiet, even with Netflix. However the fan revs into high gear when I'm on Pogo and playing a game using Java. It did not use to do that

I am not a techie, so please - speak English if you have some ideas of what can help. :D

I would really like to lower the noise level!

If the fans are speeding up, your computer is getting hotter due to a bigger load to process. There's nothing you can do about it.

Go into Activity Monitor and check CPU usage. Java is probably high CPU causing the fans to go. Not much you can do about it. Maybe try updating Java to the latest version if that's the culprit.
