Before upgrading to 10.9, my load averages were close to zero (~0.09) when idle. After upgrading, they never go below 1.1, even under zero load idle with no running applications.
Does Mavericks just add 1 to the traditional load average values, or is there something funky going on? I'm getting decent battery life (7 hours, 75% brightness, 1920x1200 scaled Retina) but if something is wrong, obviously more battery longevity can't hurt.
