Since this new macbookpro is far more advanced then my older gen I'm still trying to figure out how all this stuff works!!!

Do you guys keep your mbp's in high performance mode...or do you switch back and fourth when needed??

Anything else I should know about the new models??

High Performance mode uses the nVidia 9600M GT dedicated graphics. Better Battery Life mode uses the integrated nVidia 9400M graphics. Not as powerful but better battery life.

I tend to keep mine on High Performance just for convenience, but I'll switch to the 9400M if I know I won't need the powerful graphics and need the battery life.

I just wish Apple would hurry up and provide switching on the fly...

That would be nice, but I don't think it will happen till snow leopard.

I keep mine in High Performance more almost all the time just for convenience, so I don't have to close everything to switch.

If I'm feeling nostalgic, I put mine in high performance mode as the "toasted lap" sensation reminds me of my good old 12" G4 PowerBook! ;)

At the moment, the slower setting suits me just fine. Who knows what advantage we'll get with 10.6, though...
