First time iphone buyer here. I've done some research online, and there seems to be thousands of different cases for this phone. Could someone help me narrow the field a bit?

I'm looking for a case that is:
- High quality
- Slim and form fitting
- Provides decent impact resistance
- Doesn't interfere with signal (like the element vapor apparently does)

I'm not opposed to the bumper style cases because I love the way the glass back looks. But if I went with a bumper are there clear back protectors available to protect from keys/coins in pockets?

I've done quite a bit of browsing of this subject on my own, but there is no worse feeling than buying something on the Internet and not turn out to be what you expected. So I would value your opinions greatly. Thanks!

I am in the same boat as you.

I am considering the SGP Neo Hybrid EX (their site is currently down.)

I have always wonder the difference between SGP Neo Hybrid EX and SGP Crystal Clear cases. They look very similar.

Vapor Pro doesn't interfere with signal nut spendy at $150

Those new Element Vapor cases do not have any signal issues, so don't hesitate spending on them. They at least are the most form-fitting thing you can buy.

How's the headphone jack/connector port on the vapor pro? And think the verizon version would fit with the 4S?

The vapor pro is one of those cases that has reported GPS issues, but to answer your question, it has room for all types of jacks.

They look great...but I think this will only fit AT&T phones.
The Verizon mute button is located a little differently.

Can anyone confirm or deny if this will fit the Verizon phone?

I got a quick case from Verizon, I think it's the Griffin one (they didn't list who made them during check out), and if I don't like that one I'm looking for a similar style case. As slim as possible, showing off as much of the phone. I'm considering just getting a bumper.

When i looked under the 4S products at SGP the other day, the Neo wasn't even an option. I ended up getting the Linear Crystal series. Though as someone has mentioned I'm not sure of the difference between the two.

Linear has a clear back cover.

Neo does not, just has the outter bumper.

I think.

And IMO Element Vapor Comp if you wanna spend the $$. The SPG Neo, the inner rubber gasket deforms after a while from taking it off to clean your phone.

Apparently the CDMA/Verizon version they sell will fit the 4S.

Has anybody ever had any issues with the Apple Bumper?

Here is an excellent iPhone case review Website:

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/re...,A,A-,B+,B,B-,C+,C,C-,D+,D,D-,F+,F,F-,NR,NA"/

The link is for search results based on the case rating. You can define searches using other parameters including keywords.

The reviews are detailed, usually offer comparisons to comparable cases and, when applicable, have images of the disassembled and assembled cases.

I tend toward highly-protective cases because of my lifestyle and I am reviewing alternatives to the Otterbox Defender case that I have been using with my iPhone 3GS. The detailed comparisons to similar cases in many reviews make it easier and quicker to narrow-down the field of possibilities.

Thanks Mojo!

Thanks for all the great suggestions! I decided to buy these two cases since I can have them in hand before the iphone 4S (Black) arrives on Friday.

Incase Slider (Black) - $34.95 at Best Buy
SGP Linear Crystal Series (Champagne Gold) - $24.99 via Amazon (with free 2 day shipping)

I'm not opposed to saving up for one of the more pricey aluminum cases down the road once some reviews start coming out using a 4S.
