If you just need a USB-c hub (NOT Thunderbolt) Anker is the way to go. very cheap and reliable, I own a number of them through the years, and I've never had a single problem.
If you're looking for something more advance, Caldigit has some excellent docks, a bit on the expensive side and I can also recommend them. The USB-C Pro dock is a dual USB-C/Thunderbolt hub, so it can work with non-thunderbolt devices (like old laptops) and support Thunderbolt connections as well. Otherwise, the SOHO is a great USB-C hub.
I would not recommend buying unbranded docks, they may work for a while but they have significant speed issues and also heat dissipation is pretty bad, usually, they don't last for long.
I have had a good experience with my NOVOO 8 in 1 USB-C Hub. It has three USB 3.0 ports, a gigabit Ethernet port, a USB-C PD port, 4K HDMI output, and an SD/TF card slots. I have had it for over a year now. I also have an Anker USB-C hub as well.
