Hi,

I just unwrapped my brand new 2017 15" MBP and installed the latest High Sierra on it. My question is wherever i further go and install 10.13.3 Beta 4 (Public Beta) to have it updated.

I always like my devices to have the latest OS X and i do not want Sierra. My question is between both, if there is any problem/void warranty etc if i decided to live with beta on my machine.

I have beta for more than a year in my iPhone and always liked all of the releases. As i like to stay on top of current software. Is it worth for Macbook Pro to install a Beta software? I have Apple Care+ and it would be a fresh install.

I never before have installed mac OS beta on my main machine. Just stick, for safetly with normal releases in something as sensible as a computer. What are the differences between both- 10.13.2 (17C2205) and 10.13.3 beta 4 (17D34a) ?

I will be running Flame, Maya, whole Adobe Suite,FCP,Xcode.

Thanks!

I am not following your post. Do you have Sierra loaded on it out of box or High Sierra and are wondering to "upgrade" to the lastest beta?

I am guessing you are running Sierra contrary to your opening sentence. Clone it using CCC. Upgrade to the latest High Sierra official release. Clone it using CCC. Use it for a bit and then install the beta profile and install the beta. Go back to either clone if you are unhappy.

EDIT/PS - if you don't know what CCC is, Fishrrman will be by soon with his usual CCC cut and paste.

Hi, sorry for the possible mixup. ^^
I'm using High Sierra and was wondering if to upgrade it for High Sierra Beta.

Wanted to ask if anyone was using the current beta without any problems or if it would be advisable to stay on High Sierra non beta.

I will follow your advice and use High Sierra for a little while, if i don't like it will use High Sierra beta and, if not, go back.

What are the features that the HS Beta 4 may have that the current standard High Sierra release doesn't have?

Those were about my questions. Thanks

Understood. If you are already using High Sierra, I personally don't think moving to the current beta will provide any noticeable advantages. There is no new functionality in the current beta vs. the latest official release. That said, I am running the latest beta and don't have any issues. If you want to try beta's, I suggest you use CCC to clone so you can always restore.

Is CCC free? I think i'll stay then in the official release, but will became familiar with carbon copy cloner so i can do effective backups for the future.

Thanks for your insight.

Free 30 day trial. Well worth paying for after that.

I would stay well away from beta as a daily OS, set aside a small partition and dedicate that to the beta testing, and if it goes completely mad, then you can just wipe and restart...Using beta OS as a daily system is really not wise...Just know that 10.13.4 beta the latest public published version has broken many apps, duetdisplay, a few windows emulator apps are non functional, it seems developers are having a few issues with the 10.13.4, 10.14 code...Not sure, but with Apple saying no new OS for a while, lets fix the ones we have...hahahahaha...High Sierra is maybe a OS too far for now...
