Hi everyone,
I have installed the security update (2020-004) for macOS High Sierra from App Store.
Now my OS is noticeably slower. Boot time up to 32 seconds from 25.
I have cleaned LaunchAgents e LaunchDaemons folders but it doesn't work.
Any advice?
Anyone with same issue?

Best regards
Andrea Filippini

How long did it take to install?

I left mine running for four hours and it still didn't complete
Black screen, mouse pointer disappeared then reappeared, never got anywhere near showing a progress bar...

About 30 min.
After installation system language has changed, now it's ok but boot time is definitely slower.
Disk speed is actually only 4% slower (checked from app) however boot time is increased by 30%.
Hope everything will be fine soon...

There's obviously some deeper issue. Is it an officially supported machine, or no?

Quick update:
after several restarts, boot time is definitely back to 25 seconds.
With all due respect... you don't seem to understand how computers and updates work. After the update there's still things for the computer to sort out. In no universe does that mean anything is wrong.

It is officially supported and all previous patches applied. Having got to the point where it needs to restart, I've since worked out that the closedown doesn't succeed so it can't install the update.

Now need to work out why it won't close.

Does this every few months, just long enough apart for me to forget how I fixed it last time

Lucky you....that last system update crashed my SSD drive, luckily I have a clone drive in my system to recover everything and now running on the backup, wiped out my SSD and now recloning back everything to the SSD drive. I'm now wary of Apple putting bugs in this OS so people will move onto Mojave. I just ordered a RX590 SE card to replace my dual quadro 4000 cards and see if that helps. But for now till I get that card to try I will always have this setup in my back pocket if Mojave behaves like this.

Update: Installed new graphics card and seems to be working more efficiently but I'm now going to update to a newer SSD with double the size and install Mojave on that drive and relegate my High Sierra SSD as a backup in one of bays as a backup in case I have anymore hiccups. I'm going to try ignore the latest security updates until more testing is performed.

How do you know what he knows about his computers? Nevermind about updates. Are you a Nostradamus predicting the future of someone's skills ? Just because you say what you say does not qualify you to be better or more knowledgeable than another person based on the "moment"
I suggst in leaving the people stating what they need and want rather than letting them know how capable they are in what they are not. :))

Because they showed a clear lack of understanding what was happening to their system, and think boot time dictates the health of a computer. All things that show a clear lack of proper comprehension. People who don't understand the fundamentals are making their own ignorance a bigger barrier than any potential computer issues.
