I finally upgraded to Big Sur. I have a 2017 I7 model
I thought my laptop was fanless cause I never heard it.
Since the update its on fire and the fan stays on.
Sometimes if I close Office products it stops other times it doesn't.
Any idea what would cause this?

If nothing else I would use CMD+Space to see if Spotlight is still indexing or open Activity Monitor and .. monitor... your system to see if some process has gone rogue. It's quite a big jump you made there - from High Sierra to Big Sur.

Update
Figured out the issue.
Im running a old version of windows. No way to update without purchasing a new subscription
