Are these temperatures safe to maintain for a significant amount of time (several hours per day)? They strike me as a bit high.

It is high and I wouldn't want to live with those temps. I'm sure many people will say it's fine but my preference world be to avoid it
 
Thank you for confirming my suspicion. I'll avoid these sustained resource-intensive tasks by doing them on my workstation instead of my MacBook Pro.
 
Do you mind sharing your machine specs and your apps you are running

I don't mind at all. I'm running batch edits and exports on 50MP files in Lightroom Classic while streaming 4K content via Wirecast using the following hardware. I usually don't throw this load on the laptop, but the pandemic has changed my workflow a bit.

MacBook Pro 13" 2019
2.8 GHz i7
16GB RAM
1TB flash storage
Catalina 10.15.4

Nothing looks unusual, mine (2018 15" 2.2) runs at similar temperatures.
