I'm curious, what routers are you using to get results this high, and how far away?
I will test mine when I get home, but the highest I have ever gotten on an iPhone has been around 65 Mbps. I have other devices that are much higher, but never my iPhones.
There are many different variables that go into speed.
Your router, the connection type, the barriers between you and router, the number of competing signals, the speed going into your router, the number of connections, etc.
The two biggest ones are the speed of your connection at the router, and the type of connection you’re using.
I have up to 400mbps down at the router. Do I get that? Not usually. I am usually in the 300’s at the router.
That signal is then broadcasted. The further away you are, the worse your connection gets. The more barriers (walls, doors) the worse your connection is. The more competing network signals there are the worse your signal is. This list goes on for awhile.
Then there are two different frequencies the networks are broadcasted at; 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. 2.4 is not able to push as much information as 5, and slower speeds are a result. There are also typically more 2.4 networks out there, which increases signal interference.
Anyway, there’s a lot that goes into it.
On 2.4 GHz networks, I would probably get around 60-100 mbps down. On 5 GHz I get between 200-300 mbps down. Direct connections can get 300-400 mbps down if there’s no competing devices.
What is your router’s connection speed? What kind of network? What iPhone?
