Hey, just a quick enquiry, the Hinge on my MBA is faulty (i can open the MBA to 160 degrees), if i take this to an Apple Store (50 miles away) will they fix it while i wait, because i really don't want to have to go twice within the space of like 2 days, thanks, Skate71290

Get the phone number for the store, ring them and choose the option for the genius bar, they should be able to tell you if they can do the repair same day and book you in.

More than likely they wont be able to do it in one day, it usually take around 1 week. Its easier just to send it to applecare since they have a faster turn around time because they have all the parts with them but at the apple store they need to order them and wait for them to arrive.

Stuff like that they usually send out to the repair shop so figure at least 5 days, possibly more.

Depends on the store.

My local store (Regent Street) quote 4 WEEKS!!

Service provider up the road from them does it in one week.

I brought my Air to apple store in Bethesda, MD about 2 weeks ago. It took 3 business days for them to get the parts after my initial appointment (I didn't leave my Air in the store that day). After I get a call from them I brought it to the store at about 8pm (they close at 9) and after that got a call next day at 3 pm. They told me that I can pick it up anytime (which I did at 8pm). Technician told me if he had had parts on hands he could have done it while I wait (it's 30 min job).
