*I am happy not to have to listen to this ...what..."Music"...cough cough, there's lots of good music coming from the states, this is NOT one of them.

*My opinion.

Instead of bankrolling this garbage, put some money into creating better playlists that are on par with Spotify. Better apps as well, and a web-browser interface for those of us that wouldn't be caught dead using that piece of crap known as iTunes.

Download an older version of iTunes if you just want a music player, I think I have v8 or 9, still works.

As long as Spotify has a free tier Apple can't go toe to toe with them. So they are trying to differentiate by being a cultural destination rather than just a repository for music. Think vh1 or MTV in the nineties as both channel branched out with shows like "pimp my ride" or "behind the music".

I think it makes sense. In the long run Spotify may have to compete with other services and cut costs to make money, but if you create IP and culture, no one can compete with you.

Thats the reason why Netflix is doing so well against other streaming services. It too is creating IP and culture through investment in its own shows. It all makes sense when you think about it.

I love hip-hop, R&B, etc. I really do. But I also like a lot of other genres, older artists, etc. This is not a selling point for me at all, nor has anything else been. Apple Music's main selling point for me is the actual streaming music service. The "exclusives" have not meant anything to me thus far.

White guilt: helping hip-hop propogate through the rigors of more legitimate music since the mid-90s.

Guilt Emotion
Guilt is a cognitive or an emotional experience that occurs when a person believes or realizes—accurately or not—that he or she has compromised his or her own standards of conduct or has violated a universal moral standard and bears significant responsibility for that violation. It is closely related to the concept of remorse.

Guilt has no color. It is an enobling emotion that motivates us to become our better selves. A wise person respects and heeds it.
