iPod Hissing Soundock

My Bose Sounddock hisses alot. It only does it when an iPod is in it and it is really annoying because it is on my bed side table as an Alarm clock.

Sounds like faulty wiring. I'd call either apple or bose to get the problem fixed.

Try turning off turn off soundcheck. That will give the audio more gain (volume), so you dont have to turn the volume up more to get levels you like, which also raises the systems natural noise levels.
