I was lucky to get my Apple Watch with sports watch delivery through with the delivery 4/24 - 5/8. Based on historical data what do you guys think apple will start the shipping process? 22nd? What happened with other product launches? Wouldn't be awesome if Apple surprised us and shipped before the 24th #

when the iphone 6 was released i got the shipping notification the night before delivery. i wouldn't trust the emails.

Things will probably start moving Sunday, the 19th. Apple launch products, for me at least, come straight from China, so that will be enough time to make the journey to the States.

Don't expect it before the 24th, Apple tells the shipping companies to hold deliveries until the launch date, so you won't get it until then. Sucks if you live right next to the shipping depot, your watch is there and there's nothing you can do. You may get lucky and your package might slip through and deliver early, but don't expect it.

Im in Sydney, Australia, so China is right on my door step #. I'm really hoping it gets delivered in the 24th. Hoping to at least see some movement by the 22nd.

mine is standard shipping. it won't be auspost. apple aus use either startrak (which is now a division of auspost) and TNT only.

For the iPhone 6+ I pre-ordered early and my phone was already staged in PA. I was freaking out because everyone saw their phones moving (coming from China) but no movement on mine because it was sitting in Harrisburg, PA the entire time. I got a shipping notice on Wednesday or Thursday and it was delivered early Friday (the 19th) morning by UPS. They had a special driver delivering the iPhones. My normal UPS driver came by to bring my amazon order later in the afternoon. All Apple store deliveries have come from FedEX except for the iPhone 6+ so I'm not sure who will deliver the watches UPS or Fedex. I will be out of town next week and plan to print out the signature forms for both UPS and Fedex so my husband can post the correct one on the door so I don't miss it. I will not get home until early evening of the 24th and I hope to have my watch waiting for me. :)

Richmond here, as well, with a 4/24-5/8 window for the 42mm SS w/classic buckle. I'm out of town next week as well (returning Thursday night!) so hopefully I will have a fun surprise Friday morning.

The best thing to do is to sign up a free account with UPS, FedEx, and other carriers to automatically receive alerts. Anytime anything is scanned into the system with your address you start getting all of the tracking notifications including delivery alerts the day prior. This saves you from having to manually check many times per day. Instead it all just flows into your inbox as it happens.

read the above about 10 times...the gospel truth....most watches will deliver 4/24...

True...my friend who works for FedEx said they had boxes and boxes of the iPhone 6/6+ staged at LAX around a week before the release date ready to make the final journey to new owners.

No apple surprises for early deliveries. And I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see any updates until next wed. And then things will start to get fast and furious. I just hope Apple delivers on the 24th. Because that's what I'm totally expecting my status to update to. Even though I know it could be delayed until the 8th, it would be a huge let down to see that in my shipping update.

Yeah mate, like 2 hours less flight time from China than to the US West Coast :) Doubt that'll make a difference.

I'm going to gather that the one of the following is going to happen, and in any of these scenarios, all hell will still break loose on this forum:

("First-wave shipments" are the ones designated with "Delivers: 4/24-5/8 by Standard Shipping" in their Order Status)
  1. All first-wave shipments will actually arrive on Launch Day, April 24.
  2. All first-wave shipments will arrive for nearly everyone on one particular day after 4/24 but on or before 5/8.
  3. All first-wave shipments will arrive completely scattered and seemingly random throughout 4/24 and 5/8.

I'm going to make an educated guess that no one in the first wave will receive their WATCH prior to 4/24.

My guess is #1 for everyone that got in very early on models that are not that constrained (like black SS and SS with Modern Buckle.)
