Just took a look at the space of the original photo and the photostream one and the photostream one is much smaller! Not good!

I was able to compare the two on the ipad. Would be curious if its downsized on the pc too. If so, this thing is useless!

I've just checked and the photostream copy on my pc is the same size as the one on my phone.

Curiously though the image meta data shows my iPhone 3GS took the image with f2.8

I thought the 4S only was capable of this with its new and improved camera?

thanks... can anyone confirm if a photo from iphone shows up on an ipad at full resolution? I can live with it as long as the pc is the original. Maybe my ipad has a lower resolution than iphone4?

It does not, unfortunately. I've just confirmed this. I have an app (Filterstorm 4) which allows for up-to 22mp photos to be edited on the iPad 2, so I took a photo with my iPhone 4S resulting in a 3264 x 2448 image. I then let it go to the Photo Stream and then open the image in the Filterstorm app on my iPad 2; immediately the image is now 1920 x 1440!

According to Apple support, they downsize the images from the photo stream onto their iDevices because it "speeds downloads" (lame.)
