Another RC nut here.

Bunch of Helis, a few planes, a few cars. Used to be into the boats but gave it up.

I like my gadgets. I do the computer thing for a living (consultant), but I do occassionaly rip open my iMac and upgrade it or build something from the ground up.

I have a bunch of other interests, but just not enough time in the day to do what I have now.

I love video games. But in terms of non-computer related stuff, I like drawing, and I like to pretend I'm quite the handy-man by "fixing" stuff. I used to build plastic models, but I was never any good at that either. Lego's are about the only thing I can build stuff out of.

That's mine :)

(for all the sarcastic people, I'm the drummer. Yeah, the kits pink. it wasn't mine hhaah). :p

Cooking -- Been building my collection of appliances and cookware for about 10 years now.
Woodworking -- Got a garage half-full of tools, hopefully the other half will fill up once a actually get my arch. license. Like building furniture mostly, although I've done some display cases and kids toys.
Martial arts -- although I've been out for a while now what with school and a kid, but I still try to practice regularly.
RC helicopter flying as of about a year ago.

For me it has been a challenge. Harder in many ways to the real ones.
That's some cool stuff. I built an RC plane years ago and flew it until I destroyed it, then never really got back into it. I always wanted to try the helicopters...

Besides internet stuff (you know, digg, fark, somethingawful, tech blogs, livejournal, twitter, facebook, etc etc)...

Netflix! I love movies. My queue has like 400 items in it.

Gadgets! I suppose I'm among friends here, so I'll leave it at that. ;)

Design! Interior design, architecture, product design, modern furniture, eco green design.. as well as graphic design, print design, photography. I buy too many magazines/catalogs because there are several for each category I've mentioned here. Lol! This also counts as "Magazines!" I guess.

Cooking! Especially Indian, Thai, Japanese, and of course everybody loves Italian. This is tied into the above by magazines AND kitchen gadgets.

Fitness! Not just bodybuilding and lifting, but also cycling and even nutrition, so it ties in with cooking as well.

Scrapbooking! It feels great to get away from CS3 and my Pantone books every once in a while to work with photos and paper-cutting and the silly vellum and paints and inks and weaving homemade papers and mementos and photos all together in a personal journey of a scrapbook, plus it allows me to use my photos in a more expressive way.

Does anyone here longboard? Been keen to get myself one. Should start soon enough.

Football (soccer to some)
Playing music

Meh, its not like clothes come off. You'd see more provocative stuff on TV...

But there are usually a boyfriend or two who linger after dropping off their girlfriend/wife/S.O.

;)

Crud. Ah well. Life, eh?

@Wongulous: I like to cook too, I wouldn't call it a hobby, but when I do cook I get the same enjoyment as I do from a hobby..

Cool. :)

Did U-Control a long time ago.

I'm really enjoying RC helicopters. Although, I tend to try to fly them like real ones instead of the traditional RC methods. It's easy to go through blade sets. :)

I like my Honey Bee King II.

Currently thinking of getting a T-Rex 450.

One bad thing about this hobby is that it is easy to get the "must buy something new" impulse all the time. :(

What kinds of real helicopters do you fly sushi? That's pretty awesome. I'd love to be able to fly a helicopter. :)

In the past, mostly military, but some civilian.

Some pictures of my office (AH-1 Cobra) from days gone by...

Looking forward through the HUD:

I think that planes are much easier to learn to fly initially. I soloed in my first at 16.

Helicopters, once you find the hover button -- which is a daunting and elusive task -- are then easy to fly. :)

RC Helicopters, on the other hand, are quite challenging. Although, now that I've found the hover button, I am doing much better. Orientation is a big issue. In a real helicopter, you are facing in the direction of flight. With an RC helicopter, you are basically facing the same direction while the helicopter heading varies, and thus the flight inputs for the desired outcome. If that makes sense.

Wow - that's amazing, sushi. And thank you for your service.

If the economy were better and my wife and I weren't currently fearing for our jobs, I'd love to take some helicopter lessons. Perhaps I should get into the R/C thing in the meantime. Sounds plenty challenging!

Your mentioning soloing brought back a flood of fond memories. I soloed at 16 too - one of the best days of my life. I'd love to get back into that kind of flying again. It's funny, just today a young flight instructor was salivating over my bird as I was getting ready to head home, and he remarked that he'd give anything to get a chance to fly something like it someday. As I taxied out, I noticed that he was up on the strut of a 152 checking the fuel. I couldn't help smiling because little did he know, I was probably more envious of him than he was of me. :)

One day, once things recover a bit. Then I can justify going off and getting that $100 burger again.

I do photography, turning it into a source of income as well.. (Tough when you're 15) and if I was 18 I'd be buying some guns too. I guess I like rabbits too, but I don't have one so I can't say they're a hobby. (I do take pictures of the hares that live in my neighbourhood, that's fun)

...I'm a weird kid.

So what is everyones hobby here?

I enjoy running, collecting and listening to music, and playing guitar.

I used to be a reader, but I just don't have as much time as I used to. I'm hoping to get back into reading again soon.

I also used to draw and paint, but, again, no time. I have, however, drawn and designed all of my tattoos, and am in the process of coming up with the concept of my next one. And, no, it will not in any way involve the Apple logo.;)

Thanks. Blushes from embarrassment.

It is.

Part of what got me a slow start is that I started off with the Japanese style controls (Mode 1) then switched to the US style of controls (Mode 2).

Here's a diagram of the difference between Mode 1 and Mode 2.

Funny you say that. I like flying the little Cessna and Piper aircraft.

If I was a rich man, I would have me a BD-5J.

Video.

Webpage.

Cool. Something you can do all your life. :)

i enjoy doing car models making them look as realistic as possible, not very goo but i do enjoy it.
Keep at it and you'll continue to improve.

I had a friend who built airplanes and loved to detail them. He got down to the point of detailing the eyes of the pilots. Really nice stuff. His heart was into Scottish military uniforms. Really cool.

playing guitar.
I wish that I had learned to play an instrument when I was a kid. Piano, guitar or sax.

I'm into photography, golf (usually spring and fall), and gaming. I've also been known to play a bit of piano...

I actually started school and sold all of my model stuff, as soon as i get my degree i'll look into buying all of it again. It was so addicting that i would come home from work at 1am and sit down and start working on them for a couple hours.
