Those who have paid off their iPhone X are you holding off for a while before upgrading to the next big thing since the X was around $1200.00.

Yeah I’m deff holding off on upgrading till next year. I’m more then happy with my X still and it’s almost paid off. I can’t justify this year to start paying a $1000+ loan again for a slightly faster X.

Yes me too I’m hanging onto mine till next year. I like the small form factor and the XS doesn’t offer much more for me

My iPhone X is totally paid off and unlocked. The iPhone XS is cool but I'll pass. This is the first year I don't really care to get the newest iPhone. BUT...I'm getting the new Apple Watch today...44mm Cellular+GPS!!! :D

iPhone X is paid off has been a while, the one thing I’m doubting about the XS is having to pay that off, plus not an major upgrades, XS Max slightly interests me, but I love the size of the iPhone X

Only downside for me is 64GB

Just upgraded from an SE to an X and couldn't be more happier. What an amazing and sexy phone. My only gripe would be reachability and not being able to easily reach the top areas of the screen with my thumb, but it ain't too bad.

I'm personally waiting for the rumoured stylus/Apple Pencil support for the next iPhones before upgrading.

I use reachability nearly everytime I pick my iPhone up, you honestly get so used to it it becomes 2nd nature and you eventually stop trying to reach with your thumb

Yeah reachability is always an option but it's not as "natural" as it was on the SE, where you didn't need to use it at all.

But even then, the X is close to perfection for me. I found that when I had an SE I would avoid doing certain things on it like reading books and articles, or watching videos and playing games just because the screen was so small and not fun to look at for long periods of time. The X has solved that, but not all of it. I would still use an iPad for other things, those next gen Pros can't come soon enough.

There's no reason to upgrade this year. The most innovative thing that came out of Apple space HQ this year is their pricing strategy.

I'm not upgrading from my X either. It works great and I only got it last Jan so less than a year old. It does all I need it to do. Upgrading would be just "because" or "new and shiny" but definitely unnecessary. I can see if you have an older phone or want the Max. These phones are too expensive now to upgrade just because IMO.

I upgraded X to XS and the difference is barely noticeable. If you open apps side by side the XS is just slightly faster and you would never notice without them being side by side. The camera is a nice improvement in low light but the X already has a great camera. The biggest difference is probably the improved speakers. I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to keep the XS or return it and just stay with the X till next year.

Amid all the feedback that the XS and XS Max have a weaker antenna/signal, I can't really justify upgrading from my X. Last year I got the unlocked Qualcomm version, which was better than the Intel one (at least in NYC the difference was significant), so I really don't want to take my chances. I compared the new camera side by side to the X and the improvements were there and they were obvious. Especially, in low light. However, I need a phone in the first place, so I'm keeping my X until next year and hoping the next iPhone addresses all the antenna issues that the XS has.

Did you get a stronger/better signal with the unlocked version? I'm in NYC also and thinking about bringing my unlocked Sprint iphone X back to T-mobile. I had the T-mobile version earlier this year and noticed the signal wasnt that strong. I'm wondering if the unlocked variant will make a difference.

I am sure lots aren’t upgrading. The demand seems low, I was at an Apple store the first two days of launch. Really no lines to speak of. In an out with a new iPhone in 20 minutes and I did not even get to the store on day one when it first opened.

Jury is out whether I will keep Max since I have the X. Figured I would at least try it.

Holding on to my X.
Ordered the XS Max gold and recieved it last friday. Played with it during the weekend and can safely conclude that I prefer the smaller size of the X. But the camera on the XS is a nice improvement over the X. I’m returning the Max.

Yes, totally! I can talk for hours about the issue, as last year I had a chance to test an iPhone 8 Plus for a month (Intel) and then a X for another month (Intel), and finally switched to the Qualcomm X. Previously I had my 6s Plus, which is considered to be superior to all the new iPhones due to its antenna design and Qualcomm modem. The Intel iPhones were outrageously bad! They would fall back to 4G or no signal at all in a lot of places where I had solid reception/LTE with my 6S Plus. I thought I was going to go nuts, as I could not use any basic features. What's the point of having these expensive phones then?! I was lucky enough to be able to return my X outside the return window (an Apple store manager appeared to be very nice and professional, God bless her!). The Qualcomm X has finally resolved all my issues: it was not as good as the 6S Plus in terms of reception but it is very very close! So now we have all the reports that the XS is actually even worse than the X, which kills any intentions for me to upgrade, as I don't want to deal with anything remotely close to what I experienced with both Intel iPhones last year. This time around though it looks like it's not even Intel fault: it's most likely related to the Apple design.

I am very happy with my launch day X. I think the size is perfect. I remember last year, coming from a 7+, feeling relived that the phone fits so much better in my pockets and hands. My phone is my go to device for mostly everything, and the 5.8 inch screen is the perfect size to get things done. If a larger screen is ever needed, my iPad or Macbook is available.

you should be fine with iPhone X [or anyone tinkering about it], unless you're desperate for the new camera (which is the only thing that is the changed bit). but then again is that worth shelling 1629aud min... [up to 2369aud for the max 512gb variant]
