When does the holiday return period start? So we can try out our iPads for 45 days? Last year it was 11/15 but I can't find out anything for this year. Tried an Apple chat but they just said 14 days.

Best Buy has already started (11/1). If Apple doesn't start by this Friday I guess I'll just get one from BB although I prefer to walk into an Apple store...

14 days isn’t enough to decide?

14 days isn’t enough to decide?

I’d like to get one for my wife for Christmas. Since stock is in and out I’d like to buy sooner than mid December. She needs the time after Christmas to decide.

Traditionally Apple does an extended holiday return period every year starting no later than November 15. HOWEVER, given this year Tim Cook has been on a money grabbing exercise jacking up the prices of all products, accessories and even Apple Care and increasing repair costs, I wouldn't be surprised if the extended returns have also been shelved in his quest to suck as much money off us as possible.

I called Apple and was told that it's starting after Thanksgiving. Not sure how accurate that is though.

Yeah, I don’t understand why a trillion dollars is not enough. The stock price seems to be down lately, as the analysis is saying customers are hesitating at the sky high prices.

Makes sense. Next week is already Thanksgiving, I’m sure it will start around that time and extend through mid January.

Looks like it's already active, according to the website

Looks like this took effect retroactively. I bought a new IPP and several covers on 10/30 for delivery on launch day. I bought several covers because I wasn’t sure which color I’d want or if I’d want the keyboard cover, so I planned to return the ones I didn’t want.

I made my decision and went to initiate the return today and I was a bit surprised to see that it told me that I had until 1/8/19 to initiate the return. Just for fun I clicked on the return button on my IPP that was delivered on launch day and that also is showing that I have until 1/8/19 to return it.

I picked up the iPad Pro 2018 and other accessories on launch day, still got usual 14 day return period

Apple Singapore Online Store mentioned about holiday returns too so we will see

You're lucky. My IPP 11" delivered on Launch Day and still says "Return by Nov 22".

That is interesting. I picked up an iPhone XS Max on the 12th and when I clicked on the return button on my apple order page, it does show that I have till 1/8/19 as well. It sounds like they are back-dating those. But of course I didn't actually click on it yet the big blue button yet.

I was in the store today at noon and they said 14 days so I didn’t pick up. Went to cancel the order at 2pm over the phone and they said just started! Silly Apple

An iPhone XS Max that I purchased on 11/3 online (picked up in store) now shows that I have until 1/8/19 to return it. Same thing on an iPad that I received on 11/7. I don't know if I should trust it since the official policy statement says that it's only for items purchased between 11/14 and 12/25. I'm concerned that once these items go past the 14 days that the order page will revert back and show that I'm past the return period.

If in doubt, call Apple as there appears to be some confusion.

For me, I did an online order and a store purchase on the same day as iPad Pro 2018 launch. Picked everything up on that day too. This is what I saw:

Online Order (on mobile website): January 2019
Online Order (on desktop website): 20th November (i.e. today)
Store Purchase (email receipt): 21st November

I decided to play it safe and returned them just now. Was told by the staff that I made the right call since my orders are covered by 14 day policy and not holiday policy. Singapore is not covered by holiday policy yet apparently

I just checked via mobile & desktop a have jan return! I did pre-order with shipping! I am so relieved, it gives me a bit more time... I am using it as my only computer (well I do have a 2015 ipp as well).

Mine says this too. But when I chatted with a representative, they said it’s 14 days and my last day is tomorrow. So I’m not sure what to think now!

Sounds like there is some kind of confusion at their side.

Print a copy of the webpage indicating the holiday return dates just in case

I just called as well. She said 14 days from the 7th of November.... But when I asked about the Holiday Return - she says yes that is correct that I DO have until Jan.

I wonder if what they see, is the date of purchase and are told to say 14 days from that date (in their training). They may not see the holiday return on their side. But when I asked again that I purchased it on launch day, it was included.

One thing I saw the other day, Best Buy started theirs on October 28th. I pre-ordered mine from Apple on Oct 31, but it was not processed until Nov 1st.... So maybe they started theirs at the same time???

Well if I decide to return it between now and then (to upgrade to a MBP), at least I can say I talked to someone today and they confirmed the return date.... Maybe I should screen shot it as well - I took a pic with the ipad Pro showing behind the pop up screen, which included the delivery date! :)

Good idea! I will screenshot it as well. Like you said, I’m not sure they can see what we see. Thanks for the update.

I thought about taking a screenshot, too. It still makes me nervous that they could say that it was an error, and that the stated policy is controlling.
