iPhone 5s, updated to 7.1.1 yesterday. Unplugged it this morning at 100%.
It's been sitting idle at work, I had one phonecall that lasted 1 minute, sent one text message and checked something on Facebook that took me 30 seconds. And I am now at 3.30 pm at frikkin' 19%!!! All kinds of crap is turned off, the phone barely in use all day and I have lost this much battery. I should have learned by now to NOT update if I'm using an iOS version I'm fairly content with. Cause it will **** you up when you do. I'm pissed.

Okay. I was contemplating not even putting this out there, because I feel like a complete and utter dumbass after my rant yesterday.... I went to plug in my phone at its usual spot, when I noticed that the on/off switch for the power on my multi-outlet extension cord was not only covered by clothing so I couldn't see it's red light, but it was also OFF..... So I obviously got no charge the other night, and I went to work on a charge done the night before! I'm so used to it being charged at 100% in the mornings, I don't even check.
So yeah.... Imma color my face embarrassed and hopefully move on.... ;)

Top marks for your honesty !!!!

Atleast you had the balls to come up and admit you were wrong, unlike a lot of the whiners on here who have bad phone experiences due to their own stupidity or unreasonable expectations, and blame everything on Apple and everyone else around them....

Good on you and I am seriously impressed by your honesty !!

I tried hard resetting, restoring, setting up as new phone, everything. Still draining like crazy

Wow, that really is abnormal. Maybe it's an app that's using a lot of data in the background, or you're in an area with low signal strength? You should try bringing it to an apple store.

Hey,
I've had some terrible battery drain as of late. Recently noticed that my Contacts app had used 3.2 GB if mobile data in the last 2 weeks. Could it be that?

Try looking at Settings > Mobile > Usage and see which apps are using a lot of data. Of course, YouTube, Spotify, Facebook and IG probably do. But see what else is.

I think there's a big with iCloud syncing, try turning that off perhaps?

Battery life on both my iP5 and my iP5s seems dramatically improved since the .1.1 update. THANK YOU APPLE for noticing us and fixing this one.

Doesn't seem like they generally fixed or broke anything related to it with 7.1.1 (or even 7.1, aside from perhaps some under the hood changes related to performance and stability that might have influenced it a bit one way or another). Some people just run into some issues after upgrades while others seem to notice better performance to some degree (possibly even related to placebo effect), while many other still don't really notice much one way or another.

I agree it could be placebo, but the endless stream of battery drain posts here has gone away since the update.

Could be Facebook. Try turning it off.
