On one hand it is cool... but it's kinda like the Flash intro to a web site and all the dumb menu stuff on DVD's and Blu-Ray before the movie. Cool once or twice but then you just want to skip it and it annoys you.

VERY nice. Seems like a lot of work per issue though.

It's the same with computer magazine cover CDs / DVDs. The flashy (often literally Flash created) is so annoying that I haven't even bothered loading it after the first time and simply go through the disc's content via the Finder ... thankfully the main one I get has a great folder structure, so it's easy to find what you want.

The concept is cool, but it's very laggy on this video. Lots of stuttering and delay. That's the one thing that kills efforts like these. It has to be absolutely seamless and instant. Not so easy to pull off, I'd imagine.

I think it is laggy 'cos it is made with Adobe Flash CS5 beta :D:D

Should I do the work that the OP should have done then?

    Well done, sir. :D

I agree with others, keep the annoying intros.

There's a new documentary out called The September Issue; watch that to see how much work goes into one magazine issue. This is peanuts.

I also agree that it looks cool, however, I got already annoyed when 'interactive' CD's started popping up in the 90's. Sometimes I simply don't want to interact but just consume something.

Let me interact on the internet. Let me consume my books, magazines, and movies.

Maybe I just get distracted to easy. Who knows...

I'll pass on all the bells & whistles. I want to open up my magazine and read it. I want the presentation to be solid and the magazine to flow with me.

The WIRED video looked good and is the best step forward. It looked easy to jump around, save clippings and share them if desired. Done.

As usual, people always over-think and over-do stuff.

If all else fails, give me a simple PDF copy of the magazine.

i think it looks really cool and would love to see it in a magazine - but i think the production costs would be prohibitive. i doubt many mags could afford to do that every month. there was a article reciently that said one of the reasons few of the record companies were producting the iTunes albums was because of the cost.

I doubt that books will turn into this.

It's neat for comics, but it would annoy the hell out of me if my copy of LOTR functioned like this...
