For $200, you got charged the part, a capacitor, est price $25

Trip charge of $100 (Cost of fuel drives this one) and insurance

Labor charge of $75 his company makes part of this. He probably got about $35 for labor.

Close, as I remember part of the bill and you are dead on for the part, but a little off balance of the trip charge, company labor, and personal pay.

Ours have the silly old fashioned fuses, when a few dollars more by the builder would have installed a modern circuit breaker right next to the condenser unit instead.

So, every now and then the fuse gets hot and blows. They uprated this time so hopefully it won't blow again. At least it is part of the a/c install warranty.

close.. it was 51 for the part, 75 for the service call and 75 for an hour of labor (of which he only was there 30 minutes).

never use a higher rated fuse ive seen it cause houses to burn down.

The a/c installer did this ... 2 fuse options on the box. His call on a warranty service, not ours.

And it is the safety switch that is required for a/c servicing, not the main breaker for the unit.

Our location requires a disable switch for the air handler right next to that unit and one next to the condenser unit.

They can either use an additional breaker or a quick disconnect fused switch. The fused switch is supposed to be marginally cheaper, and require more service calls.
