Hi all,

I have a spare iPhone 7 that I use as a spare if needed. However the screen cracked and I ended up getting a replacement screen fitted from a repair shop. After that screen got fitted the screen has green vertical lines going from top to bottom. I took the phone back and they said it was working fine when they had it, they said I may have damaged it which isn’t the case. I dont want to pay again for them to fix it and just give them more money. As the phone didn’t have the green lines before I took it in. I can only think of a botched repair.

So I am thinking anyway of possibly fixing this myself ( I will have to read up how as I have no idea lol) or do you think it’s not possible. Also an additional problem is that the home button also does not seem to be working? And when I load up the camera app I hear a buzzing cracking sound so it won’t let me take a clear photo or record a video. Do you think it’s worth while spending to get the repairs done. Or do you think I just accept it and try and sell the iPhone for parts and buy a second spare iPhone as it may be cheaper?

thanks

miyagi

The iPhone 7 series is a potential time bomb harboring non-repairable defects that can arise at any time.
You learned your lesson - to avoid non Apple repair shops. The best choice you can make is not spend any more money on the 7 and get something newer.

thanks for that. Yeah I will be avoiding them for sure from now on. I think il just try and sell the iPhone for how it is with its faults known and see what spare I can pick up.

New problem today with the iPhone 7. I had a low battery on the iPhone. I restarted the device didn’t have the charger at the time with me. All I kept getting was the Apple logo flashing and vanishing again when I tried to start my iPhone and it wouldn’t get to the pass code part. I then eventually managed to charge it and then after a while it fixed itself and went on to the pass code section. However I am reluctant to restart my iPhone. Do you think this iPhone is going to fail on me with this particular issue I had now again at anytime soon??
