so of course, my warranty just expired 1.5 wks ago and now my home button doesn't work..it presses down but i can feel that one corner of it doesn't press down fully

what can i do? do u think apple would fix it for free? ugh!

I would go to an Apple Store and explain the problem clearly and honestly. Tell them you are looking for repairs free since it's only been 1.5 weeks since the warranty died. Who knows, you might get away with it if the Genius is cool.

give it a go - you may find a nice genius, tell them about your blog and how you'll post nice things about them. Apple love that.

True and just be nice and honest.

I'd say give it a go at the Genius bar. You never know, something good might happen. The worst thing they can say is no and you would have to pay for out of warranty repair.

If jailbroken you could try an app via Cydia called (I think) mquickdo. Not much good in the long term but to get you by it might be worth a look.

This is what I would do. Good luck.

My home button was broken after an unfortunate submersion incident, and since no warranty was going to cover that I found a local phone place that repaired it for me. $40 parts and labor (part harvested from a used iphone).
