When i try pressing the home button nothing happens. It has been like this for a week so should i get rid of it and wait for 3g or send it to apple?

Is it 1st gen or 2nd gen? I would wait for the third gen personally, maybe sell it for really cheap and tell the buyer that it's not working... Unless you don't want to upgrade, then just take it to the
store.
