iPhone 8/Plus Home Button Haptic

I have an iPhone 8+ running iOS 13.5.1.

Sometimes the little vibrate you get when you press the home button doesn't work, but the home button still works.

is this a software bug or a hardware issue?

I had an 8 Plus that did the same thing Maybe 1 out 100 times it didn't. Can't tell you though if it was software or hardware. My best guess was a glitch in the hardware every once in a while possibly. Just my thought.
