reading is good, do your research haha. ;)

Ide love to see the list they have...and where mms and copy / paste come on that hierachy. Wonder what came just before them on the list. Hopefully everything we already see in 2.0.

yes so would i!!!!!! i wonder where 5mp camera is :p

i dare say not many people would know what that list looks like lol

i would like to speak up against copy/paste. there's just so much crap especially on the web that you can highlight that would take up too much memory and involve too much processing to copy and its not like there is a word processor on the iphone or that anyone should be interested in writing really long documents on an iphone and thats usually where u end up pasting stuff into. i hear people sometimes need copy paste for email but i dont really get why. and if its the case that you need it for email then maybe they can put copy/paste into the mail app it self and not be system wide. its really not a big deal feature

Im not talking document length copy/paste. But it would be nice to be able to copy some text from a webpage, or an email, which i could then use in a sms, contact, etc. Were talking technology that exists on small memory cheap phones here.

yeah small copy/paste would be useful.

yeah, i'll second that. i think i'd use it most in getting address from emails, calender, sms into maps.

also details about various stuff on my schedule.

I disagree: it's a stylized stop button. You know, play is a triangle, pause is two vertical lines, next track is two triangles and a line, stop is a square. All the iPods use those standard symbols, and on the iPhone, the button that stops whatever you are doing has the stop symbol on it.

It's not just a square - if you look really closely theres a miniature picture of Steve Jobs face embedded inside the square. You'll need a very good magnifying glass to see it, but rest assured that I have seen the picture. Every time you press the button, your really putting your finger all over SJ's face.

i dont think anybody else would interpret the apps and square in the home button issue the way you would.. its just a very remote coincidence..

ooh, so un-snap. I've done the research, but that doesn't negate the humor of his snappy comeback. Just because other things are more important, it doesn't make copy/paste unimportant.

I agree w/ the other folks here that basic cut/paste is so useful and not having it is a notable annoyance not absent on other phones in similar categories. If we want to call this a computer more than just a phone--when was the last time you had a computer w/ no cut/paste functionality?

And, as my mother always told me: it's not the thought that counts. Think all you want, it doesn't make a wit of difference until you do.

oh yeah: :)

hey man,

1. duhh. i never said that copy/paste was unimportant, i just said that there more important things (such as security, reliability, other software etc). copy/paste is one of the most important things that is still yet to be implemented, but if apple hasn't done it yet (probably because they havent had the time) then there must be a good reason (which has already been said).

2. id classify it as a 'smartphone' more than a 'computer'. it doesnt really matter, but yes i agree with you that it needs some sort of basic functions. surely some smart fellas out in the world could implement it somehow with the new 3d party software that is being made for them??

3. going by what your mother says (no disrespect); go make your own copy/paste functions, or simply buy another phone that does!!!

4. eheheheheheheh

No, it's actually the shape of his ringpiece. Every time you push it, you are giving him a little bit more pleasure.

If c&p was implemented in 3rd party software, it would be constrained to that application. Whenever you hit your "home" button, you would exit the app and lose any and all ability to c&p.

Okay, as silly as this was, I actually laughed out loud. Good one - gave me a good chuckle of the day. haha.
