Hello , i m a bit confused regarding this situation , i m not here to brag or anything , i m just trying to understand one simple thing
apple removed physical touch button in favor of taptic engine for iphone7 and 8 series ,because they had problems with homebutton that it creates random problems after an year or two , and because of taptic engine we actually got a pretty awesome replacement for that homebutton , but now apple is officially moved toward complete bazel-less display and home button is gone , as far as i understand , taptic engine is created specifically just for homebutton , it was the main reason for taptic engine to be there , now since there is no home button , there is no need for this taptic engine , they can get back to use small vibrator and i m sure most of the people don't even use that taptic engine for any reason and they should bring back the headphone jack,i think taptic engine in iphone X series is just useless and even after two years peoples still using that lightening dongle , this is not a complain but just trying to understand , who actually came up with these s***ty ideas , like they just doing random stuff without any proper pattern . please do correct me if i wrong , :) also why in the world android companies are copying apple , a small frustration ,

i carry 4 devices with me all the time , no matter where ever i go and since i m not a dongle guy , i m a cable type of person , who actually use cables rather then dongles

Macbook pro TB - Has headphone Jack - doesn't detect my htc USB-c headphone , still a ****** design for removing the SD card slot too
Ipad Air 2 - Has headphone Jack
Iphone 8 Plus - lightening cable - secondary phone
Htc U12+ - USB-C - it has the best sound quality EVERRRRRRRR and its my primary phone and i really hope that Htc should gets shutdown for trying to copy apple so it would be a lesson for other companies.
i get alot of calls on my phones on daily basis and sometimes its realllllly frustrating they i have to disconnect my call so i could charge my phone

and now i have to carry 3 different type of headphones just for this one stupid reason . the list is like 100 pages long if i try to start talking about it.

You have 17 posts here and I feel like this 1 post carries about 17 posts worth of words.

Why do you carry three headphones, you didn't make that clear. You could get one set of headphones that works for all of your devices.

as far as i understand , taptic engine is created specifically just for homebutton , it was the main reason for taptic engine to be there , now since there is no home button , there is no need for this taptic engine , they can get back to use small vibrator and i m sure most of the people don't even use that taptic engine for any reason

Wheels were invented for horse carts, and now we have petrol engines and there is no horse, so there is no need for these wheels we should remove the wheels

Your iPhone 8 came with a dongle, use it. Use the dongle. Use it. Utilise it. Make use of the dongle.

Have you heard of Bluetooth?
Yes , i also have beats studio 2 and 3 , airpods , (QC35"stolen") but the thing is with the wired headphones , you don't have to worry for them that their charging will run out , and i m being lazy , i never plugged them in when i m not using them , i just put them aside and use them when i need them .

You don’t need to worry about carrying three pairs either...

I’d recommend you purchase one set of Bluetooth headphones.

same as audi RSQ ? that's still sound sensible .

lost 6 dongles already and in my country that dongles aren't cheap $22 for 1 dongle.. lol

i would love to do this , only if i could find that one pair that can connect to my iphone8+/htc u12+/macbook pro all the time , and which can switch automatically to the specific device which i would be using or like the logitech has the option in their MX master mouse to switch between different computers , and give me atleast 3 days of backup time because i m traveling here and there all the time

no thanks - battery makes them a disposable, overpriced and needs charging

You have never tried the air pods have you? They take just minutes to recharge and you can always recharge one while the other is still in your ear. And the case gives you a lot of recharges... they are anything but disposable. Not sure why you’d think that, it’s all rechargeable. And it’s one of the best 160 I have ever spent...

How are these not working with your 3 Apple products (& one HTC). Decent battery life with a portable carry case that has 24 hours of charge which allows you to charge one whilst using the other. Can't you get through a day just with the Airpods?

Have you heard of grammar?

The confusion here is you think the Taptic Engine was was created just for the the home button which is not the case. It was design to replace the vibration motor found in most phones at the time, I believe it come out on the 4 and had a physical home. When they got rid of the physical home button they used the Taptic Engine to simulate the feel of pressing a button. They designed it because it was smaller and thinner and that when apple was trying to make the thinnest phone possible.

If you replaced the Taptic Engine with a normal vibration motor it would take the same space if not more so it would not create room for a headphone jack.

that's my actual point , wired headphones doesn't need charging , they just work.

i have 2 pairs of airpods as of now , and both of them have failed on me in less then 4months of using them , and my country doesn't have any apple stores so i can't get any warranty and they are expensive in my country $220 to be very exact

Maybe you should be more responsible of your items.
Lol , i actually do take very good care of my gadgets , but these dongles just keep disappearing :(

i have 2 pairs of airpods and both of them doesn't work properly , and i can't claim the warrenty.

it started with iphone6 , earlier variants used small vibrator in them , you can see the apple keynote of iphone7 where they mentioned that headphone jack is removed from phone in favor of large taptic engine , and its specifically made for that homebutton to stimulate real click.

thats an iphone 6 with small taptic engine and still have headphone jack.

these are new iphone xs and xs Max , and tell me you don't think that they can't put a headphone jack in there since taptic engine is even smaller now

I have tried them. Twice. And returned them. Twice. AirPods are an expensive, disposable item. They have a short, limited lifetime.

They have a li-ion battery - they won't last longer than around 3 years. Apple is trying/succeeding in make headphones an expensive consumable by removing headphone jack.

You've subscribed to AirPods. Glad you like the experience - for it to continue you'll have to spend that $160 every ~3years forever.

My wired headphones are cheap, never run out of charge, and if looked after could last a lifetime
