Listen mate, you waited two hours and your angry -

I went to the launch at the Telia Store in Amagertorv in Copenhagen waited 4.5 hours. There were about over 400 people in line, and just after the first 90 to 100 people made their purchase the guy from Telia comes out saying they are all out of the Black 16GB.

The service was ok, not much water or popcorn was given but if you compare what happened in Sweden, Stockholm launch I'm pissed - they got a free t shirt:

Oh yeah and I did not get an iPhone - nether at the retail shops or the Webshop :(

I fully understand your frustration as well.
For the record, I didn't go to the store in Roskilde but the one on Bornholm where I had hoped there was a bigger chance for me to actually get a hold of one considering the demographic...

It really seems like the Swedish Telia is a lot more customerminded doesn't it?

And damn, the 16GB is sold out on the webstores as well, not the 8GB though. Annoying...

Funny thing about the POS system. In the Netherlands the system is down as well, so they cannot sell any iPhones at third party stores. Only the operator-stores (T-Mobile) kan sell them, because they can contact the HQ to do it manually. Which means, that if you're lucky they will activate your contract in about 1-2 weeks. The other stores can't get through to the HQ, because everybody is trying to.

This completely sucks!

Combined with all the other problems, I must say Apple (and T-Mobile) screwed everything up. There are almost no accessories (f.i. no docks at all) and hardly any iPhones. The Netherlands only received about 5000-5500 iPhones, while even the number of people who registered for the newsletter/update/email topped 70000!

But thats not all. The people who do get their iPhone, can't activate them, because the iTunes activations servers are down. The current owners of iPhones and iPod touches can't update them to the 2.0 software, because the iTunes update servers are also down. Even if you get past those two hurdles, there is not much to enjoy. MobileMe/.Mac has been down for almost 24 hours, with Apple giving no updates as to when it will be fixed. Even the App Store is hard to reach and if you are able to buy an app then it won't sync or install correctly...

A black day in Apple history :(

A black day in Apple history :(

Yet pretty grand if you think about it. I can't recall any other company being able to create so much demand and fuzz about a product being released.

Looking from the perspective that probably a round million people (guessing here) want this product and about 100,000 (guessing again) trying to activate/download/update at the same time, is bound to fail...
In a week or so, all the fuzz might have cooled down a bit... Hopefully

It's crazy, the AT&T store where I live, the line was twice as long as last year's.

You can also tell the difference between the people who were in line for a $599 iPhone, and a $199 one....

Now it's no longer the upper-class-cool status symbol, lots of people are going to be getting one....

stuck up much?

I went to the store in Newton, MA and the guy outside said they were all sold out. He also said 3-4 other stores nearby were as well.

Well, it's one thing to miss out on the first batch, but here in sweden we might have to wait until end of AUGUST to get our 16 gig black.
Atleast UK and other EU countries are higher on the priority list to get weeky shipments...
8 gig might come in earlier and it seems I will have to go with that one.

Yeah, i'm just gutted, don't know what to do:confused: In a way I kinda had a feeling and expected Telia Denmark to screw up. They were totally unprepared  I don't want the 8GB. If they are getting kr.600 a month from me then I'm entitled to buy the best one:D
